Ex- Physician Faces Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Police have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
