Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available on select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , following recent talk about two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests were the number of penalties each conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times so they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this Sunday.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in red zone defence, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders but they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel off the edge.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program that the Broncos might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up significantly and new running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (402) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows how Denver represent a team that wants to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in positive down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver that layered pass over the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it consumes time and makes the defence to stay on the field for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him the way he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are having on offence is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to help you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a solid position to hold their division. All they need is is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the league started recording takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
