Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.

The statement noted debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
