Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic TV shows including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
